For students from Kolkata:

We are located in BE 30, Salt Lake. Autos originating from Karunamayee and Ultadanga all go via our nearest landmark- Tank No. 4. Several buses also pass by the tank, from where it is a two minute walk to our center. Ultadanga and Karunamayee are also well connected by buses and other public transport options, so getting here from anywhere in the city is not an issue at all.

For outsation students:

By Rail: There are two stations at your disposal- Howrah and Sealdah. It takes approximately 45 and 40 minutes respectively to get to out center from these stations.

From the Railway Station to Salt Lake:

Taxi:  Taxis charge around Rs. 150 for the 10km ride from Howrah to Salt lake and about Rs. 80 from Sealdah. You have to specifically tell the driver to take you to Salt Lake, Tank No. 4. The taxi will drop you right at our doorstep.

Bus:  From Howrah as well as Sealdah there are a number of buses that will take you either to Karunamayee or Ultadanga, from where you can take an auto to Tank No. 4. This option is considerably cheaper, as the bus might charge between Rs. 7-12 from Howrah and Rs. 6-10 from Sealdah, and the autos will charge Rs. 6 from both Karunamayee and Ultadanga to Tank No. 4. From there it is a short walk to our center.

By air: Kolkata has one airport roughly 30 minutes driving distance from our location.

From Airport to Salt Lake:

Taxi: A taxi will charge you Rs. 180 to bring you from the airport to Salt Lake, and that is what the prepaid counter at the airport will ask you to pay. The taxis not affiliated to the prepaid system can charge you an arbitrary amount, generally upwards of Rs. 200. In both cases, one has to specifically mention that they want to go to Salt Lake Tank No. 4.

Bus: A much better option is to take the airport bus . Right outside the arrivals terminal are parked several snazzy air conditioned buses that go to various places in the city, but all pass through a common junction called Ultadanga, which will be your stop. From here, autos are available that pass by Tank No. 4 which is within walking distance from our center.

For a nominal charge and for both rail as well as air, we can arrange to have you picked up and familarise you with the route if its your first time coming to Calcutta, or if you are not sure about what to do.

N.B- If you intend to take anything other than a taxi from either the station or the airport, we would recommend you travel light with not more than one piece of luggage. It will become very inconvenient for you as well as your co-passengers if you carry more than one bag.
